The new offices for SALO, LLC, a Minneapolis-based financial staffing firm, represent a unique renovation within downtown’s historical district. The firm needed to relocate due to business success and staff growth, and made the strategic business decision to stay within an established geographic location as a contributing member of the historical district and the surrounding community. Over seventy employees and countless guests are attracted to the city office with access to parks and St. Thomas University within the low-rise commercial neighborhood.
The Walsh Bishop design team needed to respond to the firm’s unique office requirements – acoustically private interview rooms separated from the active open office and kitchen/gathering/game space. The project goals included creating a highly functional and interactive workplace, while creating an acoustically private environment for guests. The interior renovation, which included the addition of HVAC units, new shower facilities and restrooms, and new finishes throughout, expresses SALO’s intent to provide an inspiring office environment. The “recycling” of this vacant second floor infuses activity to the surrounding neighborhood through good design and business practices.
